Elder Medical Services, P.C., is a group of physicians and nurse practitioners providing services to the elderly in several counties of As a group, we provide skilled medical care attuned to the special needs of the elderly in Long-Term Care facilities, Adult Care facilities, Sub-Acute settings and hospitals. A continuum of care is maintained when our patients are followed through a variety of settings. Over the past eight years we have developed a Corporate Compliance model that includes an ongoing Quality Assurance program, 35 Clinical Practice Guidelines, a Clinician and Family oriented web site and a computerized answering service. It is from this diverse background that we have developed our Consulting Service. In the past five years we have consulted in both large and small long-term care facilities in several states. Many consulting assignments have been accomplished on site while others have been managed utilizing internet and telecommunication technology. The primary functions of our consultation service in long-term care settings pertain to standardizing medical practices and improving quality of care. Medical care providers and facility administrators are beleaguered as regulatory overseers scrutinize care while insurers deny reimbursement. It is in this climate that medical providers practice in these facilities with the desire and commitment to meet the medical needs of their patients while conforming to the requirements of regulatory agencies. In addition, they work under the guidance of the particular long-term care facility’s Quality Assurance program and collaboratively with the facility’s own Medical Director. Our consultation services attend to the particular requirements of each entity which impacts on medical providers and facility administration, while organizing care in such a way as to bring quality of life to the patients and satisfaction to their families and the facility’s administration. Our consultants, using their own Corporate Compliance model, fine-tune their approach according to the needs of each facility. Areas addressed in a consultation are tailored to the needs of each facility.
