We consider the extended family members of our patients to be very important to the care we provide. We maintain communication with the families through phone calls, family meetings, letters and voice mail. We also periodically mail satisfaction surveys to the patient, family or responsible party. We encourage families browsing our site to review these communication options and avail themselves of the opportunity to communicate with our providers. To further enhance our relationship with families we continue to add to this section. While anyone can browse any section of our site, we aspire to tailor this family section to the informational needs of families, responsible parties and Health Care Agents. For this reason we have developed power point presentations on the common illnesses and conditions a family member might experience while in a health care facility. In addition we have written a Family Education Manual to explain what can be expected from us, as providers, when caring for their ill relative. This includes information on how the family members, responsible parties or Health Care Agents, can assist both the patient and provider in planning and making decisions about treatment options. |
